**Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh, April 13, 2025** – A devastating explosion at a firecracker unit in Kailasapatnam village, Anakapalli district, has claimed the lives of six individuals and left seven injured. The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Initial reports from the Anakapalli district police indicate that the blast completely destroyed the bodies of the victims. While the exact number of workers present at the time remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest approximately 15 workers were on site, as it was a Sunday. The firecracker unit is situated about two kilometers from the village.
Locals responded swiftly to the explosion, assisting in rescue efforts alongside emergency services and fire tenders. The injured were transported to a private hospital for treatment.
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V. Anitha is en route to the accident site and will visit the injured in the hospital. District Collector Vijaya Krishnan has initiated an inquiry into the cause of the explosion. The investigation is ongoing.
