**New Delhi, April 13, 2025** – A Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra procession took place peacefully in Jahangirpuri, northwest Delhi, on Saturday, three years after communal clashes marred the event. While police initially denied permission for processions in the area due to concerns about law and order, they ultimately allowed a group associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal to proceed, under heavy security.

The procession, which followed a route different from the one that witnessed violence in 2022, started at the Jahangirpuri metro station and concluded at the Sai Temple in Shah Alam Bagh. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Bhisham Singh confirmed that the yatra proceeded peacefully, following assurances from organizers. The police presence included units of the Rapid Action Force and additional personnel deployed in sensitive areas. The 2022 clashes resulted in injuries to eight police personnel and one civilian.
