Sun Apr 13 06:53:10 UTC 2025: ## Mumbai Attack Conspirator Tahawwur Rana Under NIA Interrogation

**New Delhi, April 13, 2025** – Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a conspirator in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, is undergoing intense questioning by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The second day of interrogation follows Rana’s extradition from the United States and subsequent 18-day custody granted by a Delhi court.

NIA sources revealed that the investigation focuses on uncovering the full extent of the conspiracy behind the attacks. Rana is being questioned about his communications with David Coleman Headley, his alleged key contact in Dubai, and his potential links to the Pakistani spy agency ISI and the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group. Investigators are also exploring his travel to various parts of India before the attacks.

The NIA alleges that Rana, a 64-year-old Pakistani-Canadian businessman, may have plotted additional attacks targeting multiple Indian cities. He faces numerous charges, including conspiracy, murder, and terrorism. The court has mandated a daily medical check-up for Rana and allowed him lawyer visits every other day.

The 2008 Mumbai attacks resulted in 166 deaths and over 238 injuries. The NIA’s investigation, initiated in 2009, has also implicated members of the Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HuJI) terror group. Rana is being held in a high-security cell at the NIA headquarters in New Delhi.
