Sun Apr 13 14:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Former LSU Football Star Kyren Lacy Found Dead at 24

**HOUSTON, TX** – Former Louisiana State University (LSU) wide receiver Kyren Lacy was found dead in Houston on Saturday night, an LSU official confirmed to ESPN. The cause of death is currently unknown. Lacy, 24, was awaiting trial on multiple felony charges stemming from a December 17th car accident that resulted in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall.

Lacy was accused of causing the fatal accident while recklessly driving a 2023 Dodge Charger on Louisiana Highway 20. He allegedly passed multiple vehicles illegally at a high speed, forcing other drivers to take evasive maneuvers. A resulting collision claimed the life of Hall, a passenger in one of the involved vehicles. Lacy allegedly fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.

Following the accident, Lacy turned himself in on January 12th and was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with death, and reckless operation of a vehicle. He was released on $151,000 bail. A grand jury was scheduled to hear evidence in the case on Monday.

Lacy, a highly touted NFL prospect, declared for the NFL draft on December 19th, just two days after the fatal accident. He participated in LSU’s pro day in March. While initially ranked highly among wide receiver prospects, his draft stock had fallen in recent weeks. He had a standout season with LSU in 2022, catching 58 passes for 866 yards and nine touchdowns.

His agent, Rocky Arceneaux, previously stated that Lacy was cooperating fully with authorities. The investigation into Lacy’s death is ongoing.
