**Chennai, April 13, 2025** – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid tribute to the late Bindeshwari Prasad Mandal on Sunday, marking the death anniversary of the former Bihar Chief Minister whose commission’s report significantly impacted OBC reservations in India.

Mr. Stalin lauded Mandal as a “torchbearer of social justice,” highlighting the commission’s exposure of systemic inequalities faced by Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He emphasized the Dravidian movement’s longstanding support for Mandal’s vision, even before it gained national recognition.

The Chief Minister acknowledged that the fight for social justice championed by Mandal remains unfinished, citing many of his recommendations as yet unimplemented. He stressed that true homage to Mandal lies in fully realizing his vision, and reaffirmed his commitment to this ongoing struggle.

Mr. Stalin’s tribute comes ahead of his planned visit to the Dr. Ambedkar Manimandapam on April 14th to commemorate B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. Prakash Ambedkar, Ambedkar’s grandson, is also expected to attend the event.
