ALAPPUZHA, Kerala – April 13, 2025 – Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has accused the Kerala State government of deceiving the people of Munambam regarding a land dispute. He alleges a conspiracy to favor the Sangh Parivar’s agenda by delaying a Waqf Tribunal ruling until after its term ends, potentially harming the residents of Munambam. The government, he claims, secured a High Court order preventing the tribunal from issuing a final decision until May 26.

Satheesan also criticized the government’s handling of the Karuvannur bank scam, citing the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) allegations that the CPI(M) illegally amassed over ₹100 crore through 25 accounts. He demanded accountability from the CPI(M) and the state government.

Further, he highlighted the differing stances of the CPI and CPI(M) regarding the case involving Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, suggesting internal unrest within the ruling coalition. He reiterated the opposition’s call for the Chief Minister’s resignation.

Finally, Satheesan expressed disapproval of Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar’s comments on the Supreme Court order regarding the timeframe for Governors to act on Bills, deeming them inappropriate and a questioning of the Constitution. He also dismissed alleged threats against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, stating that the Congress and Youth Congress would not be intimidated by the RSS.
