Sun Apr 13 13:55:10 UTC 2025: ## Rajasthan Congress Leader Accuses BJP of Divisive Agenda After Temple ‘Purification’ Incident

**Jaipur, April 13, 2025** – Rajasthan’s Leader of Opposition, Tikaram Jully, has accused the BJP of deliberately stoking religious and caste tensions. His remarks follow a recent incident where BJP MLA Gyandev Ahuja was suspended for “purifying” a Ram temple with Ganga water after a Congress consecration ceremony. Ahuja’s actions were condemned by Congress leaders as an insult to Dalits who had also participated in the ceremony.

While Ahuja claims his actions were not caste-motivated, Jully alleges this incident, along with other recent events, points to a broader BJP strategy. He cited the suspension and subsequent reinstatement of Ahuja in the past, predicting a similar outcome this time. Jully also highlighted BJP MLA Madan Dilawar’s previous call for DNA testing of tribals as further evidence of this alleged divisive agenda.

Jully criticized the BJP’s response, noting that neither Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma nor BJP State President Madan Rathore strongly condemned Ahuja’s actions, viewing the suspension as a mere “eyewash.” He further accused the BJP government of prioritizing policies that negatively impact the poor, such as raising electricity and water charges while halting pension payments.

The Congress leader also condemned the recent blackening of a Bhimrao Ambedkar statue in Bikaner, calling it an “atrocity” and an attack on Dalit identity and the Constitution. He demanded swift action against those responsible. Jully emphasized the significance of Ambedkar as a symbol of hope for the marginalized and framed the attack on his statue as an attack on the democratic foundations of India.
