**Karimnagar, Telangana –** Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party on Sunday, accusing them of a “shameful history” of disrespecting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Speaking to reporters in Karimnagar following a BJP-organized bike rally in honor of Ambedkar Jayanti, Mr. Kumar participated in a symbolic cleansing of Dr. Ambedkar’s statue.
The rally saw Mr. Kumar ride a motorcycle through the city, culminating at the Court crossroads. He highlighted the BJP government’s efforts to honor Dr. Ambedkar, citing the establishment of the Panch Teerth, increased Dalit, OBC, and women representation in the Union Cabinet, and the award of the Bharat Ratna to the social reformer. Mr. Kumar contrasted these actions with what he characterized as the Congress party’s past mistreatment of Dr. Ambedkar.
