**KOCHI, April 13, 2025** – The Kunnumpuram Auto Souhrida Kootayma, an autorickshaw drivers’ association, will hold an awards ceremony tomorrow, April 14th, to recognize outstanding contributions to the community. The event will celebrate Beeran, a Class IX student who selflessly raised ₹75,000 by collecting scrap to help a classmate in need. Also being honored are Adrinath and Niranjana, children of auto drivers who achieved a singing record, and Ramesh, an auto driver and accomplished percussionist.
The ceremony, which will take place at Kunnumpuram Palam ground at 9:30 a.m., will also feature the distribution of “Vishu Kaineettam” (Vishnu New Year gifts) to passengers, aiming to foster positive relationships between drivers and riders. Corporation councillor Ambika Sudarshan will inaugurate the event, with Police Circle Inspector Vinod presenting the awards.
