**New Delhi, April 13, 2025** – Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced plans to establish 100 Atal Canteens across the city, fulfilling a key election promise. The canteens, aimed at providing affordable nutritious meals for the economically weaker sections, will be located near slum clusters and construction sites. The initiative, allocated ₹100 crore in the BJP government’s first budget, will offer meals for just ₹5.
Ms. Gupta unveiled an automated roti-making machine, capable of producing 1,200 rotis per hour, at a Hanuman temple in Shalimar Bagh. She stated that similar machines will be installed in the Atal Canteens to ensure efficient food distribution. The CM emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating hunger in Delhi, highlighting the canteens as a crucial step towards achieving this goal. Following a visit to another temple in Karol Bagh, Ms. Gupta offered prayers for positive energy and the removal of negative influences in the city’s governance.
