TIRUMALA, INDIA – Anna Lezhneva, wife of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, visited Tirumala Venkateswara Temple on Sunday to offer prayers and express gratitude for her son Mark Shankar’s miraculous escape from a fire in Singapore. Mark Shankar sustained minor injuries in the incident and has since returned to Hyderabad.
Lezhneva, a Russian national and Christian, signed a declaration as per TTD regulations required for non-Hindus visiting the temple. This declaration, a subject of past controversies, has sparked renewed discussion about its application.
After arriving at Renigunta airport, Lezhneva stayed at Gayatri Nilayam and will participate in the Suprabhatam seva early Monday before offering prayers to the deity. She attributed her son’s safety to the blessings of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. TTD officials are providing her with special arrangements and security throughout her stay. Lezhneva is expected to return to Hyderabad after her darshan.
