**Thiruvananthapuram, April 12, 2025** – The strike by Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) in Kerala entered its 62nd day on Saturday, with thousands of supporters gathering outside the Secretariat to show solidarity. The demonstration, marked by a mass oath-taking ceremony, highlights the ongoing dispute over ASHA remuneration.

A resolution passed at the gathering urged the Kerala government to meet the ASHAs’ demands and end the strike. The resolution emphasized the crucial role ASHAs play in the state’s healthcare system and highlighted the national and international attention the strike has garnered, despite facing criticism.

Kerala Sahithya Akademi chairperson K. Satchidanandan, in a video message, criticized both the state and central governments for the ASHAs’ plight. He appealed to the state government to increase their honorarium, noting the government’s past increases and expressing disappointment with their current response.
