**VIGO, SPAIN** – Celta Vigo’s highly touted young signing, 19-year-old Norwegian forward Jones-El Abdellaoui, will miss Saturday’s match against Espanyol due to a muscle injury. The player suffered a hamstring strain during Friday’s training session.
While awaiting further imaging tests, initial diagnoses point to a possible injury to his right quadriceps. He has begun physiotherapy and the club is optimistic about a swift recovery.
Despite arriving in January for a fee exceeding four million euros with the expectation of splitting time between the first team and the reserves, Jones-El Abdellaoui is yet to make his senior debut for Celta. He has been included in nearly every matchday squad, however, and has contributed six appearances for the Celta Fortuna B-team, starting five of them and accumulating 367 minutes.
