Fri Apr 11 16:16:34 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Government Rejects Opposition Claims on Hyderabad Land Deal
**Hyderabad, April 12, 2025** – The Telangana government vehemently denied allegations made by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regarding a land deal in Kancha Gachibowli, calling the accusations “nonsensical, non-factual, and wild.” IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu stated that the claims, which followed the exposure of AI-fabricated disinformation, represent a new attack on Hyderabad’s development.
The government highlighted its recent Supreme Court victory securing 400 acres of land from a private entity. The land, valued at ₹20,563 crore by an IBBI-certified valuation consultant, was acquired after a protracted legal battle. Babu emphasized that the land is now litigation-free, and any suggestion to the contrary constitutes contempt of court.
The minister specifically refuted claims of a loan from ICICI Bank, stating that the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) raised ₹10,000 crore through the issuance of debentures, adhering to RBI guidelines and all relevant laws. He confirmed that ICICI Bank acted only as a partner bank in the transaction, and that a debenture trustee independently verified the land’s suitability as collateral. The government has already transferred ₹9,995.28 crore to the RBI.
Babu criticized the BRS for politicizing the issue and urged them to cease opposing Hyderabad’s development, stating that such actions are detrimental to democracy and the state’s progress. The government vowed to pursue legal action against those spreading misinformation.
