Fri Apr 11 23:50:00 UTC 2025: ## China Unveils World’s Tallest Bridge, Slashing Travel Time

**Beijing, [Date]** – China has once again showcased its engineering prowess with the completion of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, the world’s tallest bridge. Standing 2050 feet above the Beipan River in Guizhou province, the two-mile-long structure surpasses the Eiffel Tower in height and is three times its weight. The bridge, which cost approximately $280 million USD (₹2400 crore INR), was constructed in just three years, commencing in 2022.

The bridge dramatically reduces travel time across the canyon. Previously, journeys across the canyon took an hour; now, they are expected to take only a minute. This improvement in connectivity is expected to significantly boost tourism and improve transportation in the rural region.

The bridge’s opening, scheduled for June of this year, is generating significant buzz online, with videos of the impressive structure going viral on social media. China already boasts a significant number of the world’s tallest bridges; statistics suggest that roughly half of the world’s top 100 tallest bridges are located within the country.
