DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis Aggies defeated the Sacramento State Hornets 14-0 in their first of three scheduled meetings Tuesday night, ending the Hornets’ three-game winning streak. The victory marks the Aggies’ fourth consecutive win in the long-running rivalry, improving their overall record to 15-15. The Hornets fell to 18-14.

The Aggies dominated early, scoring nine runs in the first two innings, fueled by eight hits. Sacramento State managed only four hits in the game, two of which were doubles by Myles Walton and Elie Kligman. Luis Pimentel-Guerrero extended his on-base streak to 15 games with a first-inning single.

Matt Masicangelo, returning from a two-month injury absence, made his comeback appearance for UC Davis. The Aggies added two runs in the fourth and three in the seventh to secure the decisive victory.

Sacramento State will now focus on their upcoming Western Athletic Conference series against Seattle U, beginning Friday at John Smith Field.
