Ongole, Andhra Pradesh – April 12, 2025 – Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Health, Satya Kumar Yadav, inaugurated a new cath lab at the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Ongole on Friday, highlighting the state government’s commitment to upgrading public healthcare infrastructure. The inauguration, attended by Minister for Social Welfare Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao, and Prakasam District Collector A. Thameem Ansaria, underscores a broader initiative to improve medical services for the poor.
Minister Yadav emphasized the government’s prioritization of medical education and infrastructure improvements across all government hospitals. He cited the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, which provides up to ₹25 lakh in medical services to the impoverished, and the state-wide expansion of free cancer diagnostic tests. The government also plans to establish 100-bed multi-specialty hospitals in every constituency.
Minister Yadav stressed the importance of preventive medicine and highlighted the government’s efforts to showcase the superiority of government hospital care over private facilities. He commended the skill of GGH doctors, referencing recent successful surgeries.
