Fri Apr 11 23:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Jailor and Family Vanish Amidst Harassment Allegations
**Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh:** The jailor of Anantapur Open Air Jail, Subbareddy, and his family have been missing for 20 days, sparking a widespread search. The disappearance follows the filing of a case against Subbareddy at the Visakhapatnam Cyber Crime Police Station last month. He is accused of harassing a woman, allegedly pressuring her into making a nude video call.
According to Jail Superintendent A.B. Krantiraj, Subbareddy hasn’t reported for duty since March 23rd and his phone has been switched off. A special police team from Visakhapatnam visited the Anantapur Open Air Jail on March 23rd to question Subbareddy, prompting his disappearance. While his family initially claimed he was hospitalized, a subsequent phone call requesting medical leave casts doubt on this explanation. A leave application was later sent to the prisons department covering March 23rd to April 11th. His medical leave officially ended on Friday, April 11th. Visakhapatnam police have instructed the jail superintendent to immediately inform them of Subbareddy’s return to work. The investigation into the harassment allegations and Subbareddy’s whereabouts is ongoing.
