Fri Apr 11 05:05:08 UTC 2025: ## Star Air to Resume Daily Flights Between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru

**Kalaburagi, Karnataka, April 11, 2025** – Star Air will resume daily flights connecting Kalaburagi and Bengaluru starting April 16th, following advocacy by the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI). The airline previously offered only three weekly flights on this route.

The announcement follows a meeting between Star Air’s Regional Sales Manager (South), Shashikant Yakkarnall, and KKCCI officials on April 9th. KKCCI President Sharanabasappa M. Pappa and Secretary Shivaraj V. Inginshetty hailed the decision as a significant boost to regional air connectivity and economic activity.

The increased flight frequency is a direct result of recent discussions between the Karnataka government (led by Ministers M.B. Patil and Priyank Kharge) and private airline operators focused on improving regional air connectivity. The KKCCI played a key role in raising concerns about connectivity gaps with the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and the state government.

While celebrating the restored daily Bengaluru service, the KKCCI also urged the reinstatement of flights to New Delhi and Tirupati, previously discontinued. They further proposed new routes connecting Kalaburagi to Mumbai, Ahmedabad (via Surat), Rajasthan (Kishangarh), and Goa, to further stimulate trade and tourism.

Mr. Pappa emphasized that this is a positive step, but the ultimate goal is for Kalaburagi airport to become a major regional and domestic travel hub.
