**Salem, April 11, 2025** – Two young brothers, Dharshan (8) and Vishal (7), tragically drowned in Sandhanapudaiyar lake in Salem on Thursday evening. The boys, students in classes III and II respectively, were reportedly attempting to catch fish when the accident occurred. Their father, Rajendran (38), a construction worker residing in Chinnagoundapuram near Karipatti, was not present at the time.
Local residents discovered the bodies and retrieved them from the lake. Karipatti police have launched an investigation and sent the bodies to Salem Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.
