Thu Apr 10 19:11:49 UTC 2025: ## IIT Delhi to Study Delhi Bus Routes to Curb DTC Losses
**New Delhi, April 11, 2025** – The Delhi Transport Department will engage researchers from IIT Delhi’s Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre to analyze Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus routes and identify loss-making routes. This initiative follows a CAG report highlighting a significant increase in DTC liabilities from ₹28,263 crore in 2015-16 to ₹65,274 crore in 2021-22, with operational losses reaching ₹14,198.86 crore during the same period.
The researchers will examine all 814 DTC bus routes to develop a report and action plan aimed at reducing operational losses. Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Singh previously stated that the department is implementing various measures to improve the DTC’s financial health. The study is expected to provide crucial data-driven insights to optimize bus routes and improve the DTC’s overall financial performance.
