**Chennai, April 11, 2025** – In a one-sided affair at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a resounding 8 wickets in the 25th match of IPL 2025. This marks CSK’s fifth consecutive loss, dropping them to 9th place in the points table with only 2 points from 6 matches. KKR, on the other hand, climbed to 3rd place with 6 points from 3 wins in 6 matches.

CSK, batting first, posted a paltry 103/9 in 20 overs – their lowest ever IPL score at Chepauk and second lowest overall. This incredibly low total, achieved despite MS Dhoni’s return to captaincy, was never going to be enough. Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 31 was the highest score for CSK, while Sunil Narine (3 wickets), Varun Chakravarthy (2 wickets), and Harshit Rana (2 wickets) led the KKR bowling attack.

KKR chased down the target with ease, reaching 107/2 in just 10.1 overs. Quinton de Kock provided a solid start, sharing a 46-run partnership with Narine (44 off 18) before being dismissed by debutant Anshul Kamboj. Rinku Singh hit the winning six, finishing unbeaten on 15. Ajinkya Rahane also contributed 20 runs.

The match saw a dominant display by KKR in both bowling and batting. Their victory, achieved with 59 balls to spare, is one of the most significant wins in IPL history based on balls remaining. CSK made two changes to their playing XI, while KKR made one. The match also marked the IPL debut of Anshul Kamboj for CSK. The weather played little role, with only a minimal chance of rain reported.
