Fri Apr 11 10:15:00 UTC 2025: ## Kerala CM’s Daughter to Face Notice in Fraud Case

**Kochi, April 11, 2025** – A Special Court will issue notices to Veena Thaikkandiyil, daughter of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and several others in connection with a ₹72.7 crore fraud case involving Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL). The decision follows the court’s acceptance of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office’s (SFIO) final complaint, which alleges fraudulent payments were made to Ms. Thaikkandiyil’s now-defunct IT firm, Exalogic Solutions.

The SFIO’s complaint also names Sasidharan Kartha, CMRL’s managing director, Exalogic, and Empower India Capital Investments Private Limited as respondents. The court found the complaint to be free of defects and established a prima facie case against the accused. The respondents will have the opportunity to challenge the complaint’s maintainability in court.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already requested a copy of the SFIO’s final complaint from the Special Court. The notices to the respondents will be issued after the complaint is assigned a case number.
