**Guiyang, China** – China is poised to unveil the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in June, a groundbreaking engineering marvel set to become the world’s tallest bridge. Spanning two miles across a massive canyon, the £216 million (approximately Rs 2200 Crore) structure will dramatically reduce travel time from one hour to a mere minute.

Towering over 200 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower and weighing three times as much, the bridge’s construction represents a significant achievement. Its steel trusses, weighing a staggering 22,000 metric tonnes, were installed in just two months. Chief Engineer Li Zhao expressed immense pride in witnessing the project’s completion.

“This super project spanning the Earth’s crack will showcase China’s engineering capabilities and boost Guizhou’s goal of becoming a world-class tourist destination,” stated Chinese politician Zhang Shenglin. Beyond its crucial role in connecting rural communities, the bridge is expected to become a major tourist attraction. Plans include the addition of living areas, a glass walkway, and what is touted as the world’s highest bungee jump.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge’s construction further solidifies China’s dominance in bridge building. The region where it is located already houses nearly half of the world’s 100 tallest bridges, a testament to the country’s commitment to infrastructure development. The previous record holder, Beipanjiang Bridge, stood at 1,854 feet. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, however, will significantly surpass this height, showcasing China’s continued push towards innovative and ambitious infrastructure projects.
