Fri Apr 11 07:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Small-Screen Star Pradeep’s ‘ Akkada Ammai Ikada Abbayi’ Fails to Impress
**Hyderabad, [Date]:** Pradeep Machiraju, a popular television anchor, made his silver screen debut with “30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela” and returned with his second film, “Akkada Ammai Ikada Abbayi,” which released today. Co-starring Deepa Pilli, another familiar face from Telugu television, the film attempts a light-hearted comedy centered around a unique village custom.
The film’s plot revolves around Rajakumari (Deepa Pilli), the only girl born in the village of Bhairilanka, where the absence of female children is blamed for various misfortunes. Village elders decree that she must marry one of the sixty eligible bachelors within the village. The arrival of Krishna (Pradeep Machiraju), a civil engineer tasked with constructing toilets in the village, disrupts the established order and throws a wrench into the pre-arranged marriage plans.
While the film aims for light-hearted comedy, critics found the execution lacking. Though Pradeep Machiraju attempts to replicate his television charm, the humor falls flat, lacking the necessary punch and wit. The comedic scenes feel forced and repetitive, overshadowing any potential emotional depth. While supporting actors like Getup Srinu and Vennela Kishore provide some relief in the second half, the overall narrative fails to engage the audience. The film’s predictable storyline and underdeveloped romantic elements further detract from the viewing experience.
Though Pradeep puts in a decent effort, his performance isn’t greatly supported by the screenplay. The film ultimately fails to capitalize on its premise, offering sporadic moments of humor but leaving the audience feeling largely dissatisfied. The cinematography by Bal Reddy and music by Rathan are cited as the film’s only positive aspects. Overall, “Akkada Ammai Ikada Abbayi” is deemed more tedious than entertaining.
