Thu Apr 10 10:12:31 UTC 2025: ## AIADMK Leader’s Criticism of DMK Alliance Draws Fire
**Chennai, April 10, 2025** – The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] have criticized AIADMK general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami’s recent comments on the DMK alliance. Palaniswami had described the DMK’s allies as “subservient” and incapable of independent action.
VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan dismissed Palaniswami’s remarks as stemming from frustration, likening his hopes of poaching alliance partners to a futile wait. CPI(M) State secretary P. Shanmugam echoed this sentiment in a social media post, stating that Palaniswami’s comments reflected the AIADMK’s inability to attract new alliance partners.
Shanmugam further criticized Palaniswami for failing to acknowledge the growing opposition to the BJP, highlighting the CPI(M)’s recent congress in Madurai as a demonstration of unity against the BJP’s policies. He questioned Palaniswami’s awareness of the AIADMK’s perceived subservience to BJP leader Amit Shah. The CPI(M) leader presented the broad-based opposition to the BJP as a model for the nation.
