**Perth, Australia –** The West Coast Eagles are mourning the loss of inaugural squad member Sean King, who passed away on Wednesday after a short illness. King, a prolific wingman, played in the final round of the club’s first season in 1987 against St Kilda, kicking two goals. Beyond his time with the Eagles, King enjoyed a distinguished WAFL career with both West Perth and East Perth, recently receiving Life Membership from West Perth for his 60 senior games and long service as a runner.
The club expressed its deepest condolences to King’s family and friends. As a mark of respect, West Coast players and staff will wear black armbands during Saturday’s match against Carlton.
