**New Delhi, April 10, 2025** – Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda today launched a new Inter-AIIMS Referral portal, developed by AIIMS New Delhi, designed to streamline patient referrals across the country. The portal, leveraging facial recognition and automated workflows, aims to reduce waiting times, minimize errors, and improve the overall patient experience.
The initiative, initially piloted between AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS Bilaspur, will eventually connect all AIIMS hospitals nationwide. This pilot phase will allow for refinement of operational protocols before wider implementation. The system will enhance the capabilities of medical staff in managing appointments, protocols, and communication, ensuring timely and high-quality care.
The portal will also integrate with the existing Vishram Sadan online portal, providing patients with convenient and affordable accommodation during their treatment. Minister Nadda emphasized the government’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency through technological innovation. The new system promises a more transparent and inclusive healthcare experience for all.
