**Patna, Bihar –** The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather warning for Bihar, predicting widespread thunderstorms and heavy rainfall accompanied by hail in four districts within the next 24 hours. Patna and surrounding areas are expected to experience partly cloudy skies with chances of thunderstorms.
The IMD warns of strong winds and lightning in the north-central, north-eastern, and south-eastern parts of the state. While the specific four districts under the highest alert for torrential rain and hail have not been named in all sources, a previous severe weather event resulted in at least 21 fatalities in four districts, prompting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to announce compensation for the affected families. An earlier alert also warned of heavy rain and lightning in eight districts and wind speeds of up to 50 km/h. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions.
