Tue Apr 08 13:45:21 UTC 2025: ## Trinamool Congress MP in Explosive Public Fallout with Female Colleague

**Kolkata, India –** A major rift within West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has erupted into public view, threatening to destabilize the party ahead of next year’s crucial Assembly elections. TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee launched a scathing attack against an unnamed female party colleague, accusing her of rudeness and uncivilized behavior.

The dispute stemmed from an incident last week involving the submission of a memorandum to the Election Commission. Banerjee claims he was informed that 27 MPs would sign the memorandum but discovered upon arrival at the EC office that the female MP’s name was missing. He alleges she reacted by shouting and even attempting to have him arrested by the Border Security Force.

Banerjee further criticized the female MP’s apparent selective targeting of BJP leaders, claiming she only challenges Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not other BJP members from Bengal. He issued a defiant statement, vowing to quit politics if party chief Mamata Banerjee deems him wrong.

The conflict escalated when videos and WhatsApp chats, apparently leaked by BJP leader Amit Malviya, surfaced online. These recordings capture a heated exchange between Banerjee and the female MP, supported by former cricketer and TMC MP Kirti Azad, who joined the party in November 2023. Malviya’s posts also included private WhatsApp messages from a TMC MP group chat, further fueling the controversy.

Banerjee also clashed with senior TMC leader Saugata Roy, accusing Roy of hypocrisy after Roy criticized the BJP for leaking WhatsApp chats. Banerjee cited Roy’s alleged involvement in the 2014 Narada sting operation, which involved allegations of bribery. The ongoing feud highlights deep divisions within the TMC, raising concerns about the party’s ability to maintain unity in the lead-up to the elections. The female MP has yet to publicly respond to Banerjee’s accusations.
