Wed Apr 09 02:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Twins Pitcher Pablo López Exits Game Early with Hamstring Tightness

**KANSAS CITY, MO. –** Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Pablo López left Tuesday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals early due to right hamstring tightness. López, who had been pitching exceptionally well, grabbed the back of his leg between pitches in the fifth inning. After a brief conversation with shortstop Carlos Correa, he left the field without throwing a warmup pitch.

Prior to the injury, López had a dominant performance, retiring the first ten batters he faced and recording five strikeouts through his first time through the Royals’ lineup. He ultimately allowed one unearned run on three hits and a walk, while striking out six in 4 2/3 innings. The injury occurred after he gave up a single and a walk, bringing up the dangerous Bobby Witt Jr.

The early exit is a significant blow to the Twins, whose bullpen has already been heavily taxed in recent games, covering 12 1/3 innings over the previous three contests. The extent of López’s injury is currently unknown.
