**Ahmedabad, India** – Rajasthan Royals’ explosive batsman Shimron Hetmyer has joined an elite club, reaching the 5,000-run milestone in T20 cricket. The West Indies international achieved the feat during Match 23 of the IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Hetmyer reached the landmark with his seventh run of the match.

The 261st T20 match of his career (spanning 239 innings), saw Hetmyer achieve this impressive feat since his debut in 2016. His impressive T20 career includes a century and 24 half-centuries. A significant portion of his runs, over 2,000, have been amassed in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) playing for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in 84 matches. He boasts an impressive record in the CPL with 2,059 runs at an average of 29.41, including one century and 13 half-centuries.

Hetmyer’s success extends beyond the CPL. He has also made a substantial contribution to the West Indies’ T20I team, accumulating 942 runs in 62 matches at an average of 20.04. His IPL career is equally impressive, with over 1,330 runs from 77 matches at an average exceeding 30 and a strike rate over 150.
