Wed Apr 09 15:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Bollywood Icons Immortalized in London, India Expands Entertainment Infrastructure

**London, UK & Mumbai, India –** Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol will be honored with a bronze statue in London’s Leicester Square this spring. The statue, depicting an iconic scene from their 1995 blockbuster “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (DDLJ), marks the film’s 30th anniversary and is the first Indian film to be featured in the “Scenes in the Square” movie trail. The placement outside the Odeon cinema is particularly significant, as the location features in the film itself. The unveiling coincides with the upcoming musical theater adaptation of DDLJ, “Come Fall In Love,” premiering in Manchester on May 29th.

Meanwhile, India is making significant strides in expanding its entertainment industry. A INR5 billion ($58 million) deal has been struck between Bodhitree Multimedia and the Assam government to create a Global Media and Cultural Hub in Guwahati. This ambitious project will include a Media City, a luxury resort, and an India Pavilion, aiming to attract international studios and boost tourism. This is part of a larger plan by Bodhitree to establish similar hubs across India.

Finally, the mythological epic “Kannappa,” starring Vishnu Manchu, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Prabhas, has announced a worldwide release date of June 27th. The film, unveiled to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, promises a large-scale production and a cultural resurrection of the Kannappa story.
