**Moscow, April 9, 2025** – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to attend the May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. The invitation has been extended, and discussions regarding the Prime Minister’s visit are underway.

“It’s being worked out, it should be this year. He has an invitation,” Mr. Rudenko stated on Tuesday. Several other friendly nations have also received invitations to the parade.

The invitation follows Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Russia in July 2024, his first in nearly five years. During that visit, he invited President Vladimir Putin to India, an invitation which has been accepted, although specific dates have not yet been disclosed.

Mr. Rudenko’s statement highlights the ongoing strong relationship between India and Russia, characterized by regular phone calls between the two leaders approximately every two months, as well as in-person meetings at international events.
