Wed Apr 09 13:54:29 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Police Seize MDMA Worth Lakhs From Inter-State Bus Passengers

**KOCHI, Kerala, April 9, 2025** – Ernakulam Rural police conducted a successful drug bust on Wednesday, seizing 123 grams of suspected MDMA from two individuals traveling on separate inter-state buses from Bengaluru to Ernakulam.

The operation, based on a tip-off to District Police Chief Vaibhav Saxena, resulted in the arrest of Midhun (35) of Chowara and Alwyn Francis (19) of Alappuzha. Police recovered 90 grams of the suspected MDMA from Midhun’s shoulder bag, seized after intercepting his bus near Athani. The remaining 33 grams were found hidden inside Alwyn’s shoes following the interception of his bus near Angamaly.

Police estimate the seized MDMA to be worth several lakhs of rupees. Following the arrests, vehicle checks have been intensified in the region. The District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) assisted in the operation.
