Wed Apr 09 13:35:31 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Police Seize 23 kg of Ganja, Arrest Five in Coordinated Raids
**Hyderabad, April 9, 2025** – Telangana’s State Task Force (STF) conducted a series of coordinated raids, resulting in the seizure of 23.84 kg of ganja and the arrest of five individuals involved in its distribution. The contraband, valued at approximately ₹10.65 lakh, was confiscated across multiple locations in Hyderabad and Khammam.
In Hyderabad, two separate operations near the PVR Cinema complex in Moosarambagh and in Ameerpet led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of approximately 9 kg and 2.17 kg of ganja respectively. Investigations revealed that one group sourced the drugs from Araku while another obtained it from Maharashtra. Further investigation is underway to uncover the extent of their distribution networks. In Serilingampally, two more individuals were arrested with 2.17 kg of ganja.
Meanwhile, in a separate development in Khammam district, 83 kg of ganja worth ₹41.50 lakh, confiscated in 32 separate cases, was incinerated under the authorization of the State government. The ganja had been seized by five different excise stations. Authorities continue their efforts to combat drug trafficking within the state.
