**Bengaluru, April 9, 2025** – Bengaluru police have solved the murder of 26-year-old mechanic Sameer, whose body was found near Turahalli forest on Monday. Police have arrested his wife’s former fiancé, Dada Peer, alias Daddu, 25, and are currently searching for Sameer’s wife, Umme Salma alias Nazia, 22.
Sameer was discovered behind a roadside eatery with injuries indicating a targeted attack, not a struggle. Investigation revealed a strained relationship between Sameer and his wife, who had previously been engaged to Peer. Despite the broken engagement, Salma and Peer maintained contact. Police allege that Salma confided in Peer about marital problems, leading them to plot Sameer’s murder.
On April 6th, Peer allegedly lured Sameer to a secluded location and bludgeoned him to death with an iron rod. While Peer is in custody, Salma remains at large. The couple had a one-year-old child. The investigation is ongoing.
