**Shivamogga, April 9, 2025** – A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus carrying approximately 30 passengers veered off the road and crashed into a house near Jayapura in Chikkamagaluru district on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 4:30 PM as the Bengaluru-to-Sringeri bus was navigating a curve. The driver reportedly lost control, causing the bus to leave the road and collide with a house belonging to Puttappa Pujari, resulting in minor structural damage. One resident, Shantha, was injured while sleeping inside.
All 30 passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals in Jayapura and Koppa for treatment. The accident took place within the jurisdiction of Jayapura police station. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
