**Thiruvananthapuram, April 9, 2025** – Kerala’s public sector undertakings (PSUs) have experienced a significant turnaround, with a substantial increase in profitability. A report by the Board for Public Sector Transformation reveals that the number of profitable PSUs has risen from 18 to 24, based on an assessment of 48 PSUs under the Industries department.

This improved performance translates to a cumulative operating profit of ₹134.56 crore, a stark contrast to the ₹76.16 crore loss recorded the previous fiscal year. Total turnover also saw a notable increase of 15.82%, climbing from ₹4,419 crore to ₹5,119.18 crore.

Industries Minister P. Rajeeve attributed this success to the government’s focused efforts to enhance PSU efficiency and promote self-sufficiency.
