Wed Apr 09 03:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Giants Strike a New Chord with Psychedelic City Connect Jerseys

**San Francisco, CA** – The San Francisco Giants unveiled their new City Connect jerseys Tuesday, a bold departure from their previous design that draws inspiration from the city’s rich musical history. The black jerseys feature white sound waves, orange and purple gradients, and a unique glove patch inspired by 1960s concert posters. The purple hue is a nod to both the Fillmore’s stage lights and the Giants’ brief use of the color in their early years.

The jerseys’ design, a collaboration with Nike, is meant to embody San Francisco’s creative spirit and rebellious energy, with the chest script mimicking the flow of the city’s rhythm. Giants Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Heit called the launch “a cultural statement,” emphasizing the jersey’s role in connecting with fans.

The team debuted the new uniforms during Tuesday night’s game against the Reds, and will wear them during Tuesday home games and special “City Connect concert games.” These concerts will feature performances by country artist Nate Smith on June 21st and rapper Saweetie on August 16th.

Manager Bob Melvin expressed his approval, noting the vibrant colors and Grateful Dead-esque influences. The team hopes the new jerseys, which follow the success of their previous City Connect design, will bring continued good fortune, mirroring the 30-16 record achieved while wearing the previous edition. Player Jordan Hicks, meanwhile, offered a characteristically understated reaction: “I just put on whatever they give us. It’s nice, though, overall.”
