**Thrissur, Kerala – April 9, 2025** – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has concluded its inquiry into the Karuvannur Service Co-operative Bank scam, confirming that the CPI(M) Thrissur district committee does not possess an account with the bank, according to K. Radhakrishnan, Member of Parliament.
Mr. Radhakrishnan, who was questioned by the ED on Wednesday, stated that the agency had initially raised questions about the committee’s alleged involvement in the scam and the existence of an account opened in 2017 during his tenure as district secretary. Despite his repeated assertions that no such account existed, the ED persisted with its inquiries. However, after verifying the information provided by Mr. Radhakrishnan, the ED officials acknowledged the absence of the account.
Mr. Radhakrishnan further stated that he fully cooperated with the investigation, providing documentation related to his personal assets. The questioning lasted approximately one hour. The ED’s confirmation clears Mr. Radhakrishnan of any direct involvement in the bank’s financial irregularities.
