Wed Apr 09 10:12:43 UTC 2025: ## Trujet Aircraft Runway Incident: Pilot Error Cited as Probable Cause
**Bengaluru, April 9, 2025** – A final investigation report by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has attributed a 2020 runway incident involving a Trujet aircraft at Mysuru airport to pilot error. The incident, which occurred on November 16, 2020, saw an ATR 72 aircraft with 52 passengers aboard experience an abnormal runway contact during a landing attempt.
The report cites “failure to manage the aircraft’s vertical path and improper Crew Resource Management (CRM) performance” as the probable cause. Contributing factors included prevailing bad weather conditions. The aircraft’s serviceability was ruled out as a cause.
The crew, attempting a go-around, believed the aircraft had touched down before initiating the maneuver. Due to the adverse weather, the flight diverted to Chennai, the designated alternate airport. During this diversion, the landing gear remained extended due to the crew’s inability to retract it.
Upon landing in Chennai, the crew observed the right wing was lower than the left. The aircraft was stopped on the runway, and passengers disembarked safely. The report highlights the crew’s failure to effectively utilize CRM techniques during the approach and landing phases at Mysuru, impacting monitoring, communication, situational awareness, decision-making, and teamwork. No injuries were reported.
