**Hyderabad, Telangana – April 9, 2025** – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad and 18 other districts in Telangana, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds on Thursday, April 10. The alert encompasses Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool.

Hyderabad is expected to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, primarily in the evenings and nights, along with hazy morning conditions. Temperatures are predicted to range from a high of 38°C to a low of 23°C.

Meanwhile, much of Telangana is experiencing a heatwave. Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) shows that 22 of the state’s 33 districts recorded maximum temperatures exceeding 40°C on Tuesday. Adilabad was the hottest at 42.7°C, while Hyderabad reached 39.6°C. The IMD’s yellow alert serves as a cautionary measure for residents to be prepared for the anticipated severe weather.
