**Puducherry, April 7, 2025** – A workshop on eTools and Cyber Security was held in Puducherry on Monday, organized jointly by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Puducherry, and the Puducherry State IT Department. The event focused on key digital governance tools, particularly eTaal, a NIC-developed portal for real-time monitoring and analysis of government e-transactions.
Senior officials from the Union Territory administration and NIC, New Delhi, attended. Director General of NIC Delhi, Inder Pal Singh Sethi, emphasized eTaal’s role in promoting transparency, accountability, and data-driven governance. He highlighted its use in justifying government spending on e-governance initiatives.
Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan stressed the importance of integrating Puducherry’s e-transactions onto the eTaal platform to enhance visibility and accountability. Commissioner-cum-Secretary (IT) A. Muthamma praised NIC Puducherry’s contribution to the Union Territory’s digital transformation. The workshop was attended by heads of departments, senior officials, and IT professionals.
