**Imphal, Manipur –** Security forces in Manipur have made significant strides in combating militancy, arresting two militants and seizing a large cache of arms and ammunition. According to police, the arrests took place on Monday, April 7th, 2025, in Imphal East district.
One militant, an active cadre of the banned United Peoples’ Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), was apprehended in Pebiya Panfiy. Another, a member of the PREPAK militant group, was arrested in Keirao Wangkhem.
The search operations, conducted across Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Imphal East districts, yielded a substantial haul of weaponry, including rifles, hand grenades, pistols, and mortar bombs. The successful operations represent a major blow to insurgent activity in the state.
