Tue Apr 08 04:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Marvel’s *Thunderbolts* Reveals Lewis Pullman’s Character as the Powerful Void
**Los Angeles, CA** – Marvel Studios has finally confirmed a major piece of the *Thunderbolts* puzzle. While the studio previously only referred to Lewis Pullman’s character as “Bob,” a new promotional video and international trailer reveal his true identity: the immensely powerful, and incredibly dangerous, Void.
Pullman’s character declares himself as the Void in a new teaser, promising chaos and highlighting his immense abilities. Another trailer introduces the character as Sentry, revealing that he’s a dual personality with a benevolent side, the latter known as Sentry, and a malevolent counterpart, the Void. The trailers depict the Void as an incredibly destructive force, capable of turning his victims into shadows.
According to sources familiar with the Marvel comics, the Void is the malevolent alter ego of Robert Reynolds, a man who gained incredible powers from an experimental serum but struggles with severe mental health issues. These powers include invulnerability, flight, and superhuman strength, surpassing even the combined power of the Avengers.
This revelation sheds light on the plot of *Thunderbolts*, which sees Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) assembling a team of anti-heroes – Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) – to confront the seemingly unstoppable threat. The absence of the Avengers adds to the urgency of the situation, leaving the fate of the world in the hands of this unconventional team.
While Marvel Studios hasn’t explicitly confirmed Pullman’s character as Robert Reynolds/Sentry/the Void, the evidence is overwhelming, including Hasbro’s release of a Sentry action figure clearly based on Pullman’s likeness. The film’s trailers clearly link the characters. The actors, including Pullman, Pugh, Stan, Harbour, Russell, and John-Kamen will also appear in next year’s *Avengers: Doomsday*.
*Thunderbolts*, directed by Jake Schreier, hits theaters May 2nd. Tickets are on sale now.
