**Seoul, South Korea – April 7, 2024** – Samsung Electronics has officially released its highly anticipated One UI 7 update, bringing a host of new features and a redesigned interface to its Galaxy devices. The update, based on Android 15, is rolling out starting today to eligible devices, beginning with the Galaxy S and Z series, including last year’s flagship S24 lineup. Older devices like the S22 series, Z Fold/Flip 3, and Tab S8 series are expected to receive the update soon.
One UI 7 boasts significant improvements, including a suite of AI-powered features. These include support for writing tools (summarization, spellcheck, grammar correction, bullet point formatting), call transcription in 20 languages, and an “Audio Eraser” for noise removal in videos. Users can also enable automatic call recording and transcription. Enhanced Google Gemini integration allows voice commands for tasks like finding nearby restaurants. However, not all AI features will be available on older devices.
The update also features a redesigned home screen and lock screen, improved widgets, and a revamped camera app with reorganized controls and simplified pro video settings. A new “Now Bar” feature, similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, provides quick access to frequently used apps from the lock screen. Samsung has focused on improving fluidity and speed, adding new animations and redesigned icons. Extensive customization options allow users to match wallpaper colors to icons and notification trays, and completely rearrange the lock screen.
To download One UI 7, users should go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Samsung recommends sufficient battery life and a Wi-Fi connection for the update process.
