VISAKHAPATNAM, Andhra Pradesh – Mark Shankar, the youngest son of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, was injured in a school fire in Singapore on April 8, 2025. The accident occurred at the school where Mark Shankar is a student. He sustained burns and smoke inhalation, and was immediately transported to a hospital for treatment.

Initial reports indicate that Mark Shankar suffered injuries to his hands and legs, and is experiencing breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation. Doctors have assured the family that his condition is stable.

Pawan Kalyan, who was on a two-day tour of the Alluri Sitarama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh, was informed of the incident and is expected to cut short his trip to travel to Singapore. He stated he will complete his scheduled engagements in the area before departing. He is expected to arrive in Visakhapatnam before flying to Singapore, accompanied by other family members.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has also contacted the family and spoken with doctors in Singapore to receive updates on Mark Shankar’s condition. Reports from Singapore indicate that while serious, his injuries are not life-threatening.
