KOLKATA, INDIA – April 8, 2025 – Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Rinku Singh is engaged to Priya Saroj, a 26-year-old Member of Parliament (MP) for the Samajwadi Party. The couple’s families met earlier this year in Aligarh to formally agree to the union, exchanging gifts and blessings.

Saroj, a Supreme Court lawyer who graduated from Amity University Noida, is one of India’s youngest MPs, having won her seat in the Machhlishahr constituency during the 2024 elections. Her father, Tufani Saroj, is a three-time MP. Saroj’s introduction to Singh came through a mutual friend who is also a cricketer. The couple, who have known each other for over a year, reportedly share a love for cricket; Saroj has been photographed with Singh’s KKR teammate and T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav.

Singh, retained by KKR for a hefty 13 crore before the IPL 2025 mega auction, is currently preparing for an upcoming match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The engagement announcement comes as Singh prepares for the match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
