**Meerut, Uttar Pradesh:** Muskan Rastogi, jailed for the alleged murder of her husband Saurabh Rajput, is pregnant, according to a preliminary medical test. This revelation has prompted the victim’s brother, Bablu Rajput, to publicly state his intention to raise the child should paternity be confirmed as belonging to Saurabh.
Rastogi and her alleged accomplice, Sahil, are accused of drugging and stabbing Rajput to death on March 4th in Meerut. The gruesome crime involved dismembering the body and concealing parts in a cement-filled drum. Investigations indicate Rastogi planned the murder as early as November 2023.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria confirmed the pregnancy, stating that a more definitive ultrasound is pending. Jail authorities have not yet formally informed Rastogi of the pregnancy, awaiting the ultrasound results. Meanwhile, Sahil’s grandmother visited him in jail, while Rastogi’s family has remained absent.
Bablu Rajput told reporters, “If the child is my brother Saurabh’s, we will adopt and raise the child.”
Both accused are in judicial custody and participating in jail rehabilitation programs. Rastogi is engaged in sewing, and Sahil in agricultural work.
